    Brahman

    ब्रह्मन्

    What does Brahman mean?

Brahman is not a god among gods but the ground of all being — formless, limitless, and beyond the senses. The Upanishads and the Gita teach that the individual self (atman) is, in essence, one with Brahman.

In Chapter 8, Krishna defines Brahman as the imperishable supreme reality, and in Chapter 13 he describes it as beginningless and beyond being and non-being. Knowing Brahman is the goal of Jnana Yoga, the path of knowledge.
