Manglik Dosha
मङ्गल दोष
What does Manglik Dosha mean?
Manglik Dosha (also Kuja Dosha) arises from the placement of Mars (Mangal). Traditional teaching holds that a strong Mars in these houses can bring intensity or friction to married life, so matching a Manglik with another Manglik is said to cancel the effect.
Modern practitioners emphasize nuance: the dosha's strength depends on the sign Mars occupies, aspects from benefics like Jupiter, and the overall chart. Many classical texts also list conditions under which the dosha is nullified, and it is one factor among many in kundli matching — not a verdict on a marriage.
